For my wedding my bridesmaids will be wearing this dress:

My question is what should they wear on their head? I thought little tiaras (as I am wearing one) but smaller than mine. One of them suggested little coordinating alice bands. They all have between bobbed and on the shoulder length hair so all very similar styles (well at the moment they will probs all change by next august lol)

What do you think? Tiara or Alice band?

Does anyone know any websites or have any pictures of what might look nice? or indeed pics of their own bridesmaids?

I think it depends entirely on the age and hair styles of the bridesmaids. Mine are aged 24 and 33 and neither have any wish to wear anything in their hair so I have respected that. Why not discuss it with them and if they are happy to wear something then go to a bridal shop and have a try on session for head dresses or accessories.

If you are getting the dresses in that same colour, I would suggest like one of those halo kind of things that you see made of flowers BUT instead of flowers, I reckon pearls would look SOO nice with that colour, maybe even some crystals. You could so easily make something like that from bead shop.

I think tiara's would look silly. Plus, why take any of the attention off you? I would have them put small flowers in their hair, or an alice band...but i really don't like the tiara idea for bridesmaids. GOod luck!

I had my bridesmaids wearing tiarra's. They were a smaller version of mine which were all hand made by myself. It is worth giving it a go or if you know of somebody that is really clever with there hands and can create things it would be worth asking them to give it a go. What I like about my tiarra's is that they were one of a kind, unique and stood out. I hand made alot of things for my wedding, flower arrangements for the back of my wedding cars, the favors, the invitations and the wedding cake. Everybody commented on how pretty and different everything was and it just made my day even more special when I saw everything come together.

I'd go to the Mall and try places like Claires %26amp; Icing, etc %26amp; look for jeweled headbands - that should be fine. They even have kiosks in many malls now with tons of hair accessories where you should find just the right ones.

why not ask the girls what they would prefer? if they all want the same things go for it, if not they could each have something different. eg one could have a minature tiara, another a head band and another can have hair gems/clips etc.

it all depends on thier hair length and face shape too dont forget. what looks good on one person may look ridiculous on another.

Hair clips/gems are so versatile and pretty and probably easier too as you can place them almost anywhere in the hair depending on the style etc.

I think you should get a beautiful slide or clip with crystals or diamante on them. They can be placed in the hairstyles to clip back the fringes or to pull the hair away from the face. They would suit any type of hair style too..

I thought about alice bands, but rejected that idea, also thought about clips, but they don't want their hair up, so a side tiara is the only thing I can think of to suit all.

No, not tiaras. Actually a comb pulling their hair back on one side might be nice, with a few coordinating silk flowers on it.

My BMs wore a very similar colour. Two had thin alice bands with a flower, feather and pearls (fascinator type thing) from Claire's and the other wore a metal (gold coloured) alice band from BHS. The only thing we found that didn't look right was anything silver.
