A programe the other night (hosted by the Sean of the Dead guy and another big bloke) was looking back a funny and wierd things from TV days past. They featured a band that I swore I'd remember the name of, but typically have completely forgotten.

The video was of a young, slightly chubby, girl in a bumble bee outfit going round a city talking to strangers. The lead singer was a tall skinny guy with really long, straight, brown, "hippy" hair, sounded a bit like Gary Stringer from Reef, and they must have been around in the 70's.

The band name was two words and either began with M or H.

Sorry, not a lot to go on but it's driving me knutz!

The name of the band is Blind Melon. I can't remember the name of the song. Unfortunately the lead singer died a few years back.

That band was Blind Melon, the song is "No Rain". The bumble bee girl garnered some fame from the video and sadly Shannon Houn, the lead singer, died of a drug overdose about four or five years ago.

Thanks for posting the video Stillbeeping! They're right, it is Blind Melon - excellent song and video. I saw these guys with Page and Plant a long time ago. He died shortly thereafter.

Yeah it's not from the 70s - but it sure sounds like it. The album is predominantly americana rock and won't be appreciated by people on these shores - not by me anyway. Still, that song is great.
