Disease...?

I have Trichotillomania, the hair pulling disease. I cannot control my urges to pull, at all. I've tried wrapping my fingers in rubber bands while I write and do work in class (since I pull alot with one hand as I write with the other) and so many other things. It would help so much if I could get some suggestions on ways to keep myself from pulling my hair. I've tried hats, fake nails, etc. Hats were just too aggrivating and annoying. Help? Thank you ahead of time! %26lt;3

Disease...?

a pair of handcuffs and your hands behind your back should work nicely

You may need to try an anti-anxiety medication.

Good luck.

Honestly, I'm not a psychologist so I can't really even begin to tell you what you should do for help. You might want to seek help from a professional. That will probably be the best solution.

%26gt;%26gt;I knew someone that had that disorder and was hypnotized to get rid of urge...worked for her. God Bless!

OK put a rubber band around your wrist and every time you start to do it snap yourself i have used this technique for alot of things and i think it helps good luck

You know, you might wanna go vintage with this. The 1960's silk scarves are making a huge summer come back, and they totally fit the bright colors trend. I think that because it's not a hat (and maybe a little more trendy) it might just do the trick. They look great casually and dressed up, and look great with the season's oversized glasses. They are lightweight too, so you won't sweat. You'll be too busy making a fashion statement to pull it off and start pulling at your hair.

But seriously, continue your counselling, and hopefully you'll beat it. It's just a compulsion, and behaviors can be modified. Please remember that!!! Good luck, sweetie!!!
