I'm helping my best friend plan her wedding. She wants to do an Old Hollywood Glamour theme...So far, we have the groomsmen in Pinstripe with nice Sinatra-esque fedoras. The bridesmaids are in red satin dresses as is the flower girl. The bridesmaids and flower girl are wearing white flowers in their hair. The bride will be sporting a red flower in her hair. They are also hiring a "big band" to play for their guests and a few celebrity impersonators (Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Humphrey Bogart, and Audrey Hepburn). Any other ideas??? Mostly I just need help with the decor, the cake, and the food!!!! Anything that sticks out to you as very OLD HOLLYWOOD? PLEASE HELP! This is my first time planning a wedding!!!

Old Hollywood Themed Wedding??
For the cake I would suggest having the triditional cake but then like have a smaller ckae that is the HOLLYWOOD sign that would be so cute.
Old Hollywood Themed Wedding??
I'll throw out some words and stuff that I hope will help...being an "old movie" buff myself, I'll tell you what I think of when I watch one of those old, but classic films...
Cucumber Sandwiches or Ham %26amp; Cheese sandwiches (seems everyone in an old movie ordered "ham %26amp; cheese on rye")...
Caviar
Roast beef
Liquor in glass decanters
Uniformed wait staff
Doilies
small champagne glasses
Feathered boas
sunglasses
large ornate chandeliers
(faux) fur rugs
(fake) machine guns
VERY red lipstick and nails
luxurious cars
LOTS of flowers
Red carpet
search lights
Old Hollywood Themed Wedding??
You should hold the reception in an airplane hanger and rent a 1940s/1950s plane-- straight out of a Casablanca.
Instead of the flower, I would wear tulle netting and old Hollywood curls... and lots, and lots of red lipstick.
I wouldn't go too over the top with the rest of the bridal party because it should have a modern feel without being like a costume party.
The cake should look clean and classicly frosted, but red velvet would be a nice flavor.
Impersonators seems kinda strange, and might distract from the couple... Bid band music is a must.
